Igor Zozoulenko graduated from Kiev State University in 1983 in General Physics with specialization in Theoretical Physics. From 1984 to 1988 he was graduate student in the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Natl. Acad. Sci. of Ukraine and Kiev State University. His Ph.D. research dealt with theoretical studies of excitation energy transfer in molecular systems and polymers. After receiving his Ph.D. in 1988 he worked during 1989-1982 as a research scientist at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Natl. Acad. Sci. of Ukraine. During 1993-1995 he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim, focusing on quantum transport in semiconductor nanostructures. In 1995 he received a fellowship from The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and spent two years as postdoctoral fellow in the Theory and Modelling division at the Department of Physics, Linköping University. He was with the Department of Physics until 1999 when he became associate professor with the Department of Science and Technology (ITN) at Campus Norrköping. Since 2008 he is professor with the same department with research interests focusing on electronic and transport properties of low-dimensional structures and functional plasmonic and photonic devices. In 2013 he joined the Laboratory of Organic Electronics.
Igor Zozoulenko supervised four Ph.D. students and four postdoctoral fellows. He is also actively involved in teaching. Since 1996 he has been a course leader in 8 undergraduate and 6 Ph.D. courses at Linköping University. In 2005 he was nominated by students for the prize “Gyllene moroten” (the best teacher of Linköping university). Currently, Igor Zozoulenko serves as Director of graduate studies at ITN, and he is a member of the board for Graduate education at the Technical Faculty of Linköping University.
