Maria holds a bachelor degree in Materials Science from University of Patras (UOP) (Greece), with her dissertation focusing in the restoration of works of art by means of spectral and colourimetric techniques. She received her MSc in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) (Greece) and her thesis was on Development of Thin Film and Organic Photovoltaic Devices through wet techniques and characterization of their surface morphology. From 2012 to 2014, she worked as Postgraduate Researcher in the Laboratory of Thin Films Nanosystems and Nanometrology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her research projects focused on the characterization of organic & inorganic thin films by Atomic Force Microscopy & Raman techniques and the development by the wet techniques of thin films of photoactive materials and of thin films with metallic nanoparticles in order to study Plasmonics (plasmonic and enhancement of the efficiency) in Organic Solar Cells. In October 2013, Maria joined the Organic Electronics group at LiU (Norrkoping campus) as a PhD student in Organic Bioelectronics.
